By Road
From M11 – London/Stansted airport (travelling north)
- Exit at Junction 13 and turn right onto the A1303 (Madingley Road).
- Continue on this road for approximately 1 mile, passing the ‘Park & Ride’ and Churchill College on the left.
- Turn left into Storeys Way and follow this road to the end passing through restricting bollards.
- Turn left onto Huntingdon Road and travel approximately 1/2 mile, passing the Traveller’s Rest on the left.
- 200 metres passed the Felix Hotel turning but just BEFORE the BP petrol station, turn right into Thornton Road
- Finches Bed & Breakfast is the first house on the left hand side.
From A1/A14 (travelling east)
- From the A1 join the A14 and proceed approximately 20 miles to Cambridge.
- Exit the A14 and follow the signs for Cambridge on the A1307 which will bring you onto Huntingdon Road.
- Passing the BP petrol station on your left, take the first left into Thornton Road.
- Finches Bed & Breakfast is the first house on the left hand side.
West
- Leave A428 before A14 at B1303 exit (signed Cambridge & Madingley)
- Proceed past American Military Cemetery and the ‘Park & Ride’ on the left and then same instructions as North above
East from A14 (Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich):
- Leave A14 (Junction 32) at B1049 exit (signed Cambridge & Histon)
- Proceed towards town centre along B1049 Histon Road
- At the end of this road (1 mile) turn right and right again at the car wash
- Travel along A1307 Huntingdon Road approximately 1.25 miles passing the Beefeater Travellers Rest on the left.
- 200 metres passed the Felix Hotel turning on the right, but just BEOFRE the BP petrol station, turn right into Thornton Road.
- Finches Bed & Breakfast is the first house on the left.

By Train – Railtrack
- From London – Cambridge train station provides frequent services direct to Liverpool Street and Kings Cross stations (journey time approx 1 hour).
- From Stansted airport – There is a direct rail link from Cambridge station which runs approximately every 30 minutes.
- From Manchester and Birmingham – There are some direct trains from Manchester and Birmingham but these are cross country and can be slow.
- From the North – You will need to change at Peterborough and possibly Ely.
By Bus – National Express
- The bus station, located in the centre of Cambridge, also has hourly departures for Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted.
